Ryan is the co-founder of the firm and responsible for investment recommendations, the firm’s operations as well as investor relations. As a member of the investment team, he assists with idea generation, investment research, and portfolio construction. He also manages the firm’s investment-analyst intern program. Ryan founded the firm after earning his MBA at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to graduate school, he spent three years as an equity analyst for Hester Capital Management, where he worked closely with Paul. Ryan earned a BA from the University of Texas at Austin. Ryan has served on the MSF Advisory Council for the University of Texas and currently serves as a member of the KLRU Endowment Committee and the University of Texas MBA Advisory Board.

 

PAUL MOOMAW, CFA

As Chief Investment Officer, Paul leads the firm’s Investment Team, portfolio construction, research process and risk- management controls. He has over 18 years’ professional experience managing equity portfolios. Prior to Nixon, Paul spent nine years as a manager of equity portfolios for Hester Capital Management, where he managed more than $500 million in equity portfolios and was the firm’s Director of Research. His business career also included nearly a decade of work as a business writer and editor in Washington, D.C., affording him the chance to interview and work with over 2,000 business owners and entrepreneurs. Paul is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. He received an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, where his studies were focused on business valuation and corporate strategy. Paul is a graduate of Rice University, where he earned a BA in Economics, graduated cum laude and was an infielder on the Rice baseball team.

 

MITCHELL LOLLEY
ANALYST

Mitchell is an investment analyst and a member of the Investment Team. As investment analyst, he is involved in researching spin-off companies and other opportunistic investments. He graduated with distinction from the University of Texas at Austin’s Business Honors Program and earned a double major in Economics. He was a member of the Senate of College Councils and was cofounder of a student service organization that mentored elementary-school children and carried out programs for keeping residents of a local senior center active. Mitchell spent a semester at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he studied Mandarin and business. Mitchell passed all three levels of the CFA Program and may be awarded the charter upon completion of the required work experience.
